If you love kebab, but want to know how to make a fakeaway Kebab wrap, that tastes authentic – Take a look at this!

Introduction
Make a fakeaway kebab wrap? Sounds too good to be true, but if you read on, you’ll see that there’s no funny business here. If you want to make a fakeaway kebab wrap follow me in this and you’ll see why my kebab idea tastes virtually identical to the one you last bought in your favourite kebab shop!
I do have another kebab recipe on this site, (click here to read it,) and I love the kebabs I make. They are as healthy as you would like them to be, and I’m sure that if you were to make these kebabs from that recipe, you’d probably agree that they are very good. However, if you want to authentically fake it, read on…
My own research
After visiting lots of kebab shops in my area, I eventually found what I consider to be the best of the lot. I’ve been using this shop over a period of about 8 years now, and although it has changed hands twice in that time, the quality has remained exactly the same, excellent.
I’m in the second half of my life now, so tend to be a bit more thoughtful of what I eat. Nowadays, I make more of my own kebabs, but only once a week or so. Thing is that sometimes the lure of the kebab shop gets too much.
We moved the boat to another, better marina, years ago and this increased the travelling distance to the kebab shop. A 50-mile round trip in the car. We have several kebab shops within a mile of our marina base, but none of them seem realise how important it is to have the right quality. They are the ‘fast’ in fast food, but poor quality. Not for us.
My kebab shop order (and secret…)
Back to the kebab shop. I used to buy kebabs in Pitta bread, but really there is too much ‘bread’ in those pockets, so we order Doner wraps with a full complement of salad and lots of chilli sauce for me. In addition, we order a large portion of fries to share. The final item in my order is a tray of Doner meat – no salad, nothing else added. I think you can probably see where I’m going with this. We’re going to save the meat to make a fakeaway kebab wrap next week!
We take the food back to the car and eat half of it there, fresh from the shop. Don’t be judgemental here, we take the remainder of the food back to the boat. The tray of Doner meat goes straight into the freezer, and the other half of the food we bought goes into the fridge.
Dealing with the survivors
Were it not for the salad, we could actually freeze the remaining half of the food. Instead, we treat ourselves to the other half the next day. The cold chips reheat beautifully in the air fryer in about 12 minutes, and the Doner probably takes about 7 minutes in the microwave. Delicious.
The business end…
Now down to business. I’m going to make a fakeaway kebab wrap! Along with chilli and garlic sauces and whatever salad you want to add. Here are the two main ingredients in my almost 100% authentic shop bought kebab made by you if you like. We like to serve it with fries – just like the kabab shop does!
Preparation
Preparing your kebab wrap is an absolute breeze. Prepare your salad, cover with clingfilm, and put to one side.
Prepare your fries. Our air fryer takes 30 minutes to cook fries, yours may be different.
Take a note of how long everything takes to prepare, and it’ll be even easier the next time you do this.
8 minutes before the fries are done blitz the Doner meat in the microwave. Keep warm.
The wraps in the picture, which are from Sainsbury’s, Need only 20 seconds in the microwave.
Use a little lemon or lime juice on the salad and build your almost 100% authentic shop bought kebab made by you!
You can see why I can say that your wrap is almost 100% authentic.
I have never actually done it, but there’s no reason why you couldn’t buy two or three trays of meat. So long as you have a freezer. You’ll save yourself a load of cash too!
Conclusion
I think you’re going to agree that if you make a fakeaway doner wrap like this, you’ll not only save money, you’ll love it too..
